Emily is now accepting cello students of all ages and experience levels for both in-person and virtual private lessons.
Whether your goal is to be a leader in orchestra, effectively prepare for auditions, or play the cello in settings beyond orchestra, private lessons offer structure and direction. If your student enjoys playing the cello, participating in orchestra, and is excited by music, private lessons could be the next step.
Private lessons help students build technical skills, achieve musical goals, and perform with confidence. They offer students an edge in competitive school orchestra programs, UIL competitions, Texas All-Region, and All-State auditions. In lessons, students master upper level skills (vibrato, shifting, bow control, tone color, sight reading, and more), overcome technical and musical challenges, learn to practice systematically, and play with more enjoyment and ease.
Lessons offer individualized instruction, specific feedback, consistent accountability, and progress tracking, Students have access to a broader cello studio community, and opportunities to perform more in monthly studio classes (what is studio class? Click here to read more), fall and spring studio recitals, and the ASTA certificate achievement program each year.
Lessons are offered in lengths of 25 to 60 minutes, in person and virtually via zoom. Scheduling is consistent, pricing is transparent, and studio information is easily accessible via MyMusicStaff. Prospective students/parents are invited to request a free of charge lesson consultation and/or attend an upcoming studio class. Complete the form in the box below or click here to receive more details about cello lessons and request a lesson consultation.
Emily has availability to provide group cello masterclasses, orchestral cello sectionals in preparation for UIL contests & ensemble performances, and preparation workshops for All-District, All-Region, and All-State auditions.
These group class opportunities immerse students in cello-specific pedagogy. They allow them to listen and learn from each other while developing ensemble playing skills. Group classes provide students with more individualized instruction than is possible in the scope of an orchestra class rehearsal, strengthening baseline technical skills and musical understanding. They supplement classroom learning with lessons in effective practice technique, chamber music communication, audition preparation skills and performance practice.
Masterclass and Cello sectional offerings are customized to the needs of each program, with scheduling consistency and lesson duration designed to best fit your curriculum. To further discuss your program’s needs and receive more details about group class offerings, please click here.
